Shri Bhairavnathji Educational & Cultural Trust was set up by Shri Balwant Singh Rawat to fulfil a promise he made to Bhairavnathji in early 1970s when he faced serious health issues while posted in Assam during his service in ONGC
Trust was set up with an initial fund of Rs 1,12,518/= in 1998 and it became operational from 1999. The Trust has so far distributed over Rs 3.7 lakhs as one time merit scholarship to more than 860 students covering 37 government schools around Matilyali, Kirtikhal and kanva Ghati (Bhaber) in Pauri Garhwal. Merit certificates and books on Swami Vivekananda have also distributed to the students.
Donation for Trust have so far been sought only from 16 persons consisting of family, relatives and few friends and the net donation amount as on end Sep 2021 is Rs 4.61 Lakhs, with higher contributions coming from Shri Balwant Singh Rawat, Shri Satyender Singh Negi and Shri Adwait Singh Gusain.
Total Funds (Investment in name of the Trust in Mutual Funds of UTI, Bank FDs & Deposits in Saving Account) of the Trust are nearly 10 Lakhs. Dividend/Interest generated from this Corpus Fund is used for giving Scholarships to the meritorious students.
Temple of Shri Bhairavnathji after whom the trust is named, nestles on a scenic mountain top near Kirtikhal ( Pauri Garhwal) from where Himalyas range can be seen on a clear day.
In 2017, an award of Garhwal Siromani was given to Shri Balwant Singh Rawat for his work on this trust by Uttranchal Mahasangh Mumbai at a function held in Dehradun.
From a modest beginning and after running the Trust successfully for over 20 years, a strong need for more funds for the Trust is being felt to fulfil of the objectives of the Trust like providing help to poor, needy, destitute people and students, including more government/ semi-government schools of new districts of Uttrakhand under its umbrella and enhancing financial aid to meritorious students.

श्री भैरवनाथजी शैक्षणिक एवं सांस्कृतिक ट्रस्ट की स्थापना श्री बलवंत सिंह रावतजी द्वारा एक संकल्प के पूर्व होने के तहत किया गया जो उन्होंने श्री भैरवनाथजी के सम्मुख तब रखा था जब 1970 के दशक के आरंभिक वर्षों में शिवसागर (असम) में ONGC की नौकरी करते हुए उन्हें गंभीर स्वास्थ्य समस्या का सामना करना पड़ा था।
